Hi! My name is Mia and I may be better known for working with dogs at Voodoo K9 Academy for obedience, behavioural modification, and sport dog training.
I am also a qualified hydrotherapist and am excited to bring your dogs these fantastic services for fun and clinical purposes!
My passion is all things dog related! From a young age, I always knew dogs were going to be a huge part of my life and I am lucky to say they are now in business and in my home life! We own 6 dogs, yes 6! 1 Belgian Malinois, 1 Dutch Herder, 2 Giant Schnauzers, 1 Rottweiler and a Jack Russell Terrier!
I am a recognised trainer with the Guild Of Dog trainers, one of only three in the Durham area as well as being a member of BIPDT - The British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers. I am a qualified Small Animal Hydrotherapist and I am covered by insurance for public liability and professional indemnity.
I am a British Army Veteran and served in the Royal Army Veterinary Corps as a dog handler and handled and trained numerous dogs in both Protection and Firearms and Explosive Detection roles. Deploying on numerous exercices and roles around the UK and abroad.
Before my career in the British Army, I competed in Kennel Club agility achieving Grade 5 and competed for England at the Open Junior Agility Championships.
I now train my Dutch Herder Nova for protection dog sports and compete all over the UK. I have achieved 2nd place at the AVD e.v trials in puppy class and 2nd place in Level 1 Lorockmor Defend and Pursue. I have titled Nova, gaining an IGP BH title, and is now working towards a brand new sport in the UK called PSA.
I also have a young belgian malinois, called Viper, who is aiming towards PSA - which is a protection and obedience based sport. Viper is also in training for dog agility so I can revisit my roots and tackle unfinished goals from my previous agility dog, Chica the Jack Russell Terrier. Who's career came to an end due to my career in the British Army beginning! All this activity lead me to the need to keep my dogs physically healthy, which opened up an interest in canine hydrotherapy...and here we are today with Voodoo K9 Hydrotherapy!
My name is Danielle Hudson BSc MSc Vet Phys MNAVP and I proudly run my own veterinary physiotherapy business. I have recently joined forces with Voodoo K9 Hydrotherapy to combine two great ways of treating animals to offer an all round service to offer the best care for your dogs!
I am fully covered by professional and public liability insurance and a registered National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapy (NAVP) member.
Having had dogs my entire life and currently having a Labrador, Cockerdor and a 'mongrel', has enabled me to appreciate how individualised each dog is in terms of training, nutrition, exercise, mental stimulation and affection. This has enabled me to develop an individualised approach towards dogs which come for veterinary physiotherapy.
